Palatal veneers are made up of gold and are used to improve appearance on palatal side of the upper teeth.
Steps involved in wearing of veneers
- First, the dentist examines the teeth of the patient by taking X-rays.
- local anesthesia is given to anesthetize the area, if necessary.
- The dentist scratches the enamel from the surface of the tooth. The thickness of enamel scratched should be equal to the thickness of the veneer to be added.
- Then, the impressions of the teeth are taken and sent to laboratory to prepare veneer.
- Once the veneer is prepared, it is placed over the scratched tooth and examines whether the color and the thickness of the veneer is fitted or not.
- The tooth is cleaned and polished.
- Bonding of the veneer is done by passing a beam of laser to the applied veneer.
- Finally the excess veneer is removed and make any adjustments necessary.
