  • Do you have any payment expectations for your job?
  • What is discipline meant for you?
  • What actions do you take to keep kids under discipline?
  • Tell your personal and career goals. How long do you wish to provide the childcare?
  • Do you take children for an outing?
  • What are your educational qualifications?

Apart from these you should also ask the mailing or contact address, social security number, driving license, date of birth and so on. These things are helpful for you to conduct the necessary background checks to ensure the safety of your children.

By asking the above questions, you can get some idea on the person. You can also decide whether the babysitter can be preferred or not. It is obvious that working parents keep their children in a daycare center for effective childcare. Having felt that they are kept in a safe and reputed daycare center may be miserable. This is because of the fact that certain negative effects may be seen on children kept at daycare centers. Have a look on some of them.

Stressful Atmosphere
Some children who spend a full day in the daycare center are more stressed. It has been studied that children who feel shy and do not wish to be at such gathered places are more stressed. Some studies stated that more of cortisol which is a stress hormone is released in some of the children spending their time in a daycare center.

Aggressive Behavior
It is because of the stress levels that the children do not wish to go there. Also, this results in an aggressive behavior. They may fight with the co-children and the teachers over there. Apart from that there may be a change in the behavior of the children.

Social Relationship

  • A daycare center which has a so-so reputation is not the better one for your kid. Ask your family members and other friends if the daycare center is familiar. If you find news that some children are injured at a daycare center, then better avoid selecting it.
  • Loose rules and regulations at the daycare center also makes it bad. Several organizational problems arise at centers where no clear guidelines and rules are established for operating hours, handling emergencies, and so on. It is necessary for the daycare centers to have current immunizations and regular checkups for kids.
  • Lack of well-trained and professional staff is also going to affect your childcare. Observe the things that happen between the children and staff when you go to a daycare center. The way of interaction of the instructor with the children also affects the quality of the child well-being.
  • A questionable curriculum is also an indication of an inefficient daycare center. Avoid centers which do not have daily program. Those with static and un challenging activities are also not good.
  • An under-compensated staff present in a daycare center are not interested in their daily activities. This may also affect the childcare.
  • Dirty and unsafe facilities are the perfect indicators of a bad daycare center. A clean, safe, and hygienic environment is required for a daycare center because children may be easily prone to infections at such unclean conditions.

Misunderstanding can be prevented by explaining the details of the agreement when there are different assumptions. So, written work agreement is essential while hiring a nanny. There are few tips to write a nanny work agreement such as:

Cover all the basics: All the basic things should be covered in agreement like hours, duties and responsibilities, compensation of nanny. Overtime compensation, vacation time, medical insurance, health insurance, other details should be mentioned.

Declare payroll frequency and tax treatment: You should mention the time of salary payment means when salary can be paid like hourly, weekly, or monthly. You need to mention the tax deductibles and whether you are deducting the income tax of nanny or is she responsible to pay the income tax directly. Parents need to mention all these type of information in agreement.

Explain emergency procedures: With whom nanny will be in contact while she is in duty. You need to provide the information about contact information for child’s doctor, dentist, insurance information, etc.

Write clearly about automobile use: You need to mention whether you are providing any vehicle or whether she will use her personal vehicle, does she use your personal vehicle to transport your children.
